There are many ways you can prioritize your health and wellness this autumn. Starting a healthy routine this autumn is the key to staying healthy this season. We are sharing some of our favorite tips to help you stay healthy and happy, keep reading! 

Healthy Eating Habits 

Cooking and eating healthy foods at home is a wonderful idea. Getting the proper amounts of carbs, healthy fats, and protein is essential for a balanced diet. Eating vegetables like leafy greens is also a great habit to start. It is important to eat foods that are dense in nutrients. Stay away from processed foods and added sugar and instead eat whole foods.  

Prioritize Sleep 

Getting enough quality sleep is essential to staying healthy this autumn. It aids in preventing sickness and diseases. Every night, you should get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep. If you find it difficult to fall asleep, try to make a sleep schedule and routine.  

Get a Flu Shot 

With flu season starting in October, it is important to get a flu vaccination to stay protected. According to chcw.org, “Vaccination has been shown to have many benefits including reducing the risk of flu illnesses, hospitalizations and even the risk of flu-related death in children. While some people who get a flu vaccine may still get sick, flu vaccination has been shown in several studies to reduce the severity of illness.” 

Drink Adequate Amounts of Water 

Staying hydrated and drinking lots of water every day is particularly important. For your body to function properly, it is recommended you drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day. If you don’t drink enough water it can lead to a lack of energy, dehydration, headaches, etc. 

Stay Active 

Studies have shown that working out in autumn is a fantastic way to boost your mood, ward off germs, and keep those calories off. Staying active also helps to exercise your brain. When keeping active, you release dopamine and endorphins, helping ward off seasonal depression. Regular exercise also helps boost your immune system.
