24 Hour Holter Monitoring
Holter monitoring is a portable device that is worn continuously for 24 hours to record the heart's rhythms during normal activity. Small conducting patches are stuck onto your chest and attached to a small recording monitor that you carry in a pocket or small pouch.
How to prepare for the test:
- Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any tapes or other adhesives.
- Make sure you shower or bathe before you start the test because you will not be able to get your body wet while you are wearing a Holter monitor.
