24 or 48 hour Holter monitoring
Holter monitoring is a portable device that is worn continuously for 24 or 48 hours to record the heart's rhythms during normal activity. Small conducting patches are stuck onto your chest and attached to a small recording monitor that you carry in a pocket or small pouch.
How to prepare for the test
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any tapes or other adhesives. Make sure you shower or bathe before you start the test because you will not be able to get your body wet while you are wearing a Holter monitor.
